Read time: 2 minutes

SanityPress is a modern starter template, with a CMS built right in, to help you get a website up and running in no time.

Like WordPress, but... you get the idea πŸ˜‰

Origin StoryπŸ”—

As a developer at a digital marketing agency, my role demands the creation of scalable and maintainable websites that can adapt to rapidly changing environments. Additionally, the ability to build and replicate websites swiftly is crucial.

After numerous iterations and rounds of feedback, SanityPress was born.

a newborn wearing a Deadpool suit diligently typing on a Macbook in an old cluttered dirty New York apartment room, stacks and piles of paper surrounded by him, a black grandma wearing sunglasses sleeping on the couch in the distant background, neon signs "Web Dev" in the background, IMAX 4k film still from a Marvel movie

The Villains The CompetitionπŸ”—

There are a number of other similar Sanity starter templates built on the Next.js framework that offer slightly different solutions and approaches.

HULLπŸ”—

Probably one of the most well-known projects with built-in Shopify integration.

Unfortunately, this project hasn't been updated since 2022 and is already collecting some dust.

Definitely worth checking out, though.

Personal WebsiteπŸ”—

A beautiful website and very close contender to SanityPress, this starter template comes included with both Visual Editing and an embedded Studio.

Would be nice to see some screenshots of the Studio, but nonetheless enough to get a website up quickly.

Clean Next.js + Sanity appπŸ”—

Although a simpler alternative, this official template is featured on Sanity's template directory listing.

However, it too is yet to update to the Next.js App Router. The Sanity Studio is also still on an outdated version (v3.28.0).
